Robert represents clients in real estate, land use and regulatory matters, including property and businesses owners, developers, nonprofit organizations and academic institutions. He advises clients on everything from zoning and permitting requirements, to environmental and subdivision laws. His transactional work includes leases and purchase and sale agreements. Robert has extensive experience working with city agencies and commissions and is a member of the firm’s land use litigation team. Robert chairs Wendel Rosen's Cannabis Industry Group.
Robert’s cannabis work includes advising clients on licensing, local and state regulations, real estate transactions and litigation. He frequently publishes articles and speaks at public forums on cannabis issues.
Prior to practicing law, Robert enjoyed an extensive career as a newspaper reporter covering land use, real estate and local government for publications such as the San Francisco Chronicle and Examiner. He also served as the chief of staff to a San Francisco Supervisor, assisting in citywide legislation on a range of zoning and environmental issues.
With longstanding Oakland roots, Robert is active in his community, serving on several boards and as the chair of a neighborhood non-profit organization.
