Robert represents clients in real estate, land use and regulatory matters, including property owners and businesses, developers, nonprofits and schools. He advises clients on everything from zoning and subdivision requirements, to environmental laws and design issues. His transactional work includes leases and purchase and sale agreements. Robert has extensive experience working with city agencies, commissions and boards and is also part of the firm’s land use litigation team.Robert chairs Wendel Rosen's Cannabis Industry Group.
Robert’s cannabis business work includes advising clients on regulations, permitting, real estate transactions and government affairs. He has published extensively on cannabis issues.
Prior to practicing law, Robert enjoyed an extensive career as a newspaper reporter covering land use, real estate and local government for publications such as the San Francisco Chronicle and Examiner. He also served as the chief of staff to a San Francisco Supervisor, assisting in the approval of citywide legislation on a range of zoning and environmental issues.
With longstanding Oakland roots, Robert is active in his community, serving on several boards and commissions.
